Life is short, but your lashes don't need to be...

How would you like to wake up with perfect lashes every morning? Would you love longer fuller lashes?

I’m Paige, and I’m a beauty therapist and a lash expert and I just love lashes. I’m going to tell you all about eyelash extensions and why I love them!

Eyelash extensions instantly make your eyes look bigger, brighter, more youthful and dramatically enhance them too. They will also bring out the colour of your eyes and in addition to adding length and volume, they can also make your eyes look younger and more awake without applying coats of mascara.

These days, now that we have to wear face masks, our eyes have become even more of a feature, add to this flawless lashes, compliments will start pouring in, and your confidence will increase. When you look good, you feel good!

There are a three main types of eyelash extensions: Classic, Hybrid or Russian Volume.

What is the difference?

Classic Lashes

Classic Eyelash Extensions involves the process of carefully applying a single extension lash to a single natural healthy eyelash. A typical full set of Classic lashes can vary from having 80 extensions up to 150 extensions per eye depending on the clients desired look and of course how many natural healthy lashes they have to begin with. This style is not always recommended for those with thin/sparse natural lashes. Russian Volume extensions would be a better option as the fanned lashes can fill in the sparse areas to create a full set of lashes.

Hybrid Lashes

Hybrid lashes represent the best of both worlds with a more natural, 'messier' look achieved that is less uniform and a little more like how natural lashes grow. These are great for anyone with naturally fine or sparse lashes, where volume fans can be placed in sparser areas to make the lash line look fuller.

Russian Lashes

Russian Lashes are ultra-fine synthetic lashes that are made from the same soft fibre as classic lashes. Because they're much thinner, I am able to apply more lashes to each natural lash, anything between 2-15 Russian lash extensions are applied in a fan like shape, which gives more volume.

The Russian volume eyelash extensions help fill in the gaps between sparse natural lashes that classic extensions could not do. The volume lashes create a fluffy, softer look.

They have been reported to cause less damage to the natural eyelash, because of their lighter weight. Many people think that more volume means more adhesive, but this is wrong. Russian Volume lashes require only a small fraction of that which is used with previous extension techniques. Russian lashes look darker than classic sets also, adding a richer look to your lashes.

Frequently asked questions:

How long will the lashes take to do?

For a fresh full set of lashes, I always book out a 2 hour appointment

How often do I need an infill?

The infill time will take 1 hour and I recommend an infill every 2-3 weeks

How long does it take to remove them?

The removal time of old lash extensions is 15 minutes.

Do I need to prep my lashes before I come in?

Yes, please! Make sure your eyelashes are squeaky clean, no traces of eye makeup, eyeliner or mascara prior to your appointment. Use an oil-free make up remover if possible, and rinse well. Any traces of oil or makeup (especially mascara!) will create a barrier between the adhesive and your natural lashes, causing your extensions to drop off prematurely.

How long do they last for?

Lash extensions will last anything up to 5 weeks but during this time gaps will appear. This happens because when your natural lash grows your lash extension will grow with it and eventually fall off, ready for a new lash extension to be applied on top. I do recommend an infill every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes topped up and looking full. The better you look after your lashes the longer they will last.

Does it hurt?

No, lash extensions do not hurt, you may feel like they sting a little once you’ve opened your eyes. But that’s nothing out of the ordinary, and they shall feel normal again within a few minutes.

Can I wear mascara?

NO NO NO! A lash technicians’ worst nightmare 😱 ladies please do not apply any form of mascara to your lash extensions. This will ruin the lashes and they will not last as long either. The mascara will also build up on your extensions and make it a lot harder to infill.

What products can I use on my lashes?

Use an oil-free and alcohol-free eyewash for your eye area.

When cleaning your lashes refrain from pulling or tugging your lashes while washing. Simply use your fingertips or a lash-cleansing brush to gently massage the cleanser into your lash line.

Rinse with fresh water until the cleanser and makeup residue is removed.

How can I make them last longer? 🤔

You will need to give your lashes a little TLC. If you look after them they will last a lot longer. I would always recommend you do the following to look after your new lashes:

1. Clean and brush them daily. But don’t over brush your lashes.

2. Be gentle, your eyelashes are very delicate and you need to take care of them

3. Only use lash extension friendly products.

4. Don’t miss your infills... like ever!

If you would like to know more or book an appointment please get in touch and remember …life is too short not to love your lashes!

Look forward to seeing you soon
